“Imagine you’re breathing.”
Nature is dead and there is no going back. Do you remember how it felt when we could breathe together? When we could bury our feet in the grass? When raindrops fell on us? Three performers lead the audience in a ritual of remembrance at a time when nature, exhausted by humanity, no longer exists. Set in an artificial imitation of the world, Treatment of Remembering encourages us to look inside and reflect on our relationship to nature and the environment. Minimalist choreography and scenography create a sense of timelessness, which, complemented by a complex and sensitive musical composition and intense lighting states, offer a dense statement on origins and extinctions. A delicate and expressive apocalyptic vision, the work is both a meditative social critique and a guide to shaping a new world.

POCKetART z.s. is an association of four choreographers and performers working in contemporary dance and physical theatre. Their work is defined by its emphasis on engagement with issues currently impacting society, from the fatal threat posed by the global climate crisis, to media manipulation, the stress of the competitive environment or intergenerational views on womanhood. POCKetART’s performances are regularly presented in the Czech Republic and abroad. Founder Johana Pocková studied at the Peridance Capezio Centre (New York) and the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance after completing her studies at the Duncan Centre conservatoire in Prague and currently creates original choreography and performance work. In 2017, she received the Jarmila Jeřábková Award for her choreography for the performance VRAŽDA! Malá komiksová historie (Murder! A Little Comics History).
