How do we ask for feedback? And do we know how to receive it? Traditional methods of evaluation often fail to meet our expectations. The W.O.W. (Words of Witness) method illuminates the possibilities of approaches to feedback in a way that is truly useful for artists - and not just for them.
The W.O.W. approach is inspired by Nonviolent Communication (NVC) and Simone Forti's non-evaluative feedback method. It helps creators to better articulate what they need to hear from their audience and how to work with it further. W.O.W. is a structured but still playful tool that allows artists to gain essential information for the development of their own work.
The workshop is open to participants in the Live Performance Bazaar Residencies program, but also offers places for those from the wider community who are interested in or involved with the issue of "receiving and giving feedback" in the performing arts. Participation is conditional upon completion of the full five-day workshop. We recommend that you also attend the Saturday Bazaar programme, during which you can put the workshop experience into practice.
